TIM BLAKE NELSON’S SLOW BURN IN POTSY PONCIROLI’S OLD HENRY IS NOTHING LESS THAN ASTOUNDING. THE WESTERN GETS A SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE.

Tim Blake Nelson is Old Henry, a hardworking farmsteader in the remote Tennessee grasslands of the old West. His teenaged son Wyatt (Gavin Lewis) is in full-on rebellion and planning to leave when Henry comes home with an injured man and a satchel of money. Henry takes care of the stranger but a posse of apparent lawmen show up in search of the satchel and warfare breaks out. Turns out Old Henry’s pretty good with a gun. Writer-director Potsy Ponciroli’s stunning story turns history on its head. What She Said’ Anne Brodie spoke with Nelson and Ponciroli.

Old Henry is available on TVOD Oct 1.
