THE FORGOTTEN, BRILLIANT AND BEAUTIFUL ROLLING STONE.

Few people know that the late Brian Jones was the founder of the world’s mightiest, most enduring band The Rolling Stones. His musical innovations, as a blues lover and early adapter of world music, gave the Stones an unmatched fusion sound with blues, zithers, harmoniums, and wind instruments – whatever he could find he mastered. He was a superb and imaginative musician. He and Mick Jagger were school friends but the pressures of the ever-more popular band in the ’60s created an irreparable rift. They wrote songs together as Nanker Phelge, but that bond was broken in a series of tragic events. What She Said’ Anne Brodie spoke with Nick Broomfield about his riveting doc The Stones and Brian Jones.
